Closing the Gates

Since the 12th century, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre has been opened in the morning and closed at night by two Muslim families. This is so as to prevent fighting between the different Christian groups who control the site. The other week, I was lucky enough to guide someone when the church closed down for the night, and I got to see the ceremony with my own eyes - enjoy the pictures.
