The Caesarea Tsunami

Last week I guided a National Geographic Expedition group throughout Israel. As part of the trip we had the pleasure of meeting National Geographic Explorer Dr. Beverly Goodman, whose research focuses on finding evidence for a devastating tsunami that hit Caesarea in the second century. This was very different from regular tours of the site and offered a fascinating insight into the emerging discipline of geoarchaeology!
